The striped skunk is the native skunk found throughout the United States including areas of Central Florida. These animals have black to brown fur with a white to cream stripe extending from the head to the tail. They weigh between 4 and 10 pounds, with a length of 20-30 inches. Their forefeet have long, curved claws adapted for digging, and their hind feet are shorter and straighter.
